Privacy policy

Overview

This policy explains what information mivorent ("we," "us," "our") collects when you visit mivo.rent or use one of our apps, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We built this studio to make software we'd want to use ourselves, and that includes being plain about data.

Information we collect

We keep the data we collect to what we actually need to run the site, the studio, and our apps:

• Contact information you give us. If you email us or fill out a contact form, we receive your name, email address, and whatever else you choose to include in your message.
• Basic usage data. Standard technical information such as browser type, device type, general location (city/country level), pages viewed, and referring page, collected through privacy-respecting analytics.
• Account and app data. If you create an account in one of our apps, we collect what's needed to run that account — for example an email address, and the content you create within the app.
• Cookies. mivo.rent uses a small number of cookies for basic site functioning and anonymized analytics. We don't use cookies for third-party advertising.

How we use information

• To respond to messages sent to us and discuss potential projects
• To operate, maintain, and improve mivo.rent and our apps
• To understand, in aggregate, how the site and apps are used
• To keep accounts secure and prevent abuse
• To meet legal obligations where they apply

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Sharing information

We share information only with the service providers that help us run mivo.rent and our apps — for example, hosting, email delivery, and analytics providers — and only to the extent needed for them to perform that service. These providers are bound to use the information solely to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of mivorent or others.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected — for example, contact messages are kept while we're discussing a project and for a reasonable period afterward, and account data is kept while an account is active. You can ask us to delete your data at any time; see "Your choices" below.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit and restricted access to production systems. No method of storage or transmission is fully secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

• Access & deletion. You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@mivo.rent.
• Cookies. Most browsers let you block or clear cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may affect some site functionality.
• Marketing email. If we ever send marketing email, every message includes an unsubscribe link.

Children's privacy

Our site and apps are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the studio or our apps change. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Significant changes will be noted here directly.
